About Framer
Framer crossed over from design tool to website builder and brought its DNA along. That means a canvas that behaves like Figma, real responsive control, animations that would cost a developer days, and published sites that consistently post excellent Core Web Vitals. Plans start at $10 a month for Basic, with Pro at $30, undercutting comparable Squarespace and Webflow tiers. The AI features assist real design work rather than replacing it. It expects slightly more design comfort than Wix, the CMS is leaner than Webflow’s, and e-commerce is not the point. For startups, portfolios, and marketing sites, this is the momentum pick of 2026.

Framer's own help pages disagree: the FAQ says there is no HTML export for self-hosting, while the data portability page says the published HTML, CSS and JavaScript can be downloaded; CMS content leaves through plugins as CSV or JSON.
