Square Online answers the small-merchant question Shopify’s $29 floor leaves open. It is a genuinely free online store, monetized through Square’s payment processing (around 2.9% + 30¢ per transaction) instead of subscriptions. Inventory syncs with Square’s point-of-sale, which makes it the path of least resistance for cafés, shops, and market sellers already ringing up sales on Square hardware. Paid tiers (from around $29 a month) remove Square branding and add features. The builder itself is functional rather than beautiful, and ambitious stores feel the ceilings.
